My name’s Alex, and I started ScienceOfProperty.com to share my passion for turning houses into homes through DIY and design, right here in the UK. Like many, my journey into home renovation and design has been a winding one, full of discoveries, challenges, and plenty of “aha!” moments.

My own home is a constant source of inspiration (and sometimes, exasperation!). It’s a typical UK property that has seen its fair share of life, and I’m slowly but surely bringing it into the 21st century while trying to keep its character intact. From tackling leaky taps to reconfiguring entire rooms, every project is a learning experience. And believe me, it’s not always glamorous – there are usually more paint splatters and sawdust than Pinterest-perfect moments!

I’m a self-taught enthusiast when it comes to DIY and design. I’m constantly learning new skills, expanding my tool collection (much to the dismay of my shed space!), and diving headfirst into projects that often stretch my capabilities. My goal here is to share that journey with you, including the triumphs, the inevitable setbacks, and all the lessons I pick up along the way. It’s a real, often messy, and incredibly rewarding process.
